Lauren Wlasichuk
Lauren Wlasichuk has been dancing for 13 years at The Dance Factory in Calgary, where she trained in ADAPT tap and jazz, RAD ballet, hip hop, musical theater, lyrical, and street jazz. She spent the last four years volunteering 2-5 classes per week student teaching younger dancers in lyrical, tap, jazz, and musical theater. She has loved participating in dance camps, classes and conventions such as Triple Threat Dance Convention over the past couple years. Her most recent achievements include completing her Grade 8 RAD ballet exam, as well as receiving "Top Jazz Dancer, 13 Years and Over" for 2011 at her studio. She has also loved being involved in various competitions in Calgary over the past five years, where she was truly pushed to her full potential. One of her favorite times with her dance friends include a studio trip to Triple Threat Cali 2010 and performing onstage in Disneyland and California Adventure parks. Though it has been a tough year adjusting to life away from the studio she knew and loved for so many years, Lauren is excited meet new dancers and learn from their different styles and backgrounds! This is her first year at university, and she is hoping to achieve a double major in English and Secondary Education at the University of Alberta. Lauren also worked in a tea shop for this past summer, so any questions concerning tea, or if you would like to get together to enjoy a cup, feel free to ask! She can't wait to start rehearsals and get to know all of the lovely and talented people she gets to work with this year!
